We understand the importance & pride that comes from mastering your craft - because we've spent generations mastering ours.
Over 140 years ago, from a workshop smithy in Wuppertal, Germany, Carl Gustav Putsch and his apprentices began creating pliers. Forging them. Strengthening them. Tuning them to the needs of the world. With a hard-won wisdom from our past and a focused purpose for our future, we pursue the art of crafting the finest pliers possible still to this day. While manufacturing remains in Wuppertal, the KNIPEX brand has expanded with locations globally and remains the market leader in professional pliers. KNIPEX Tools North America began as a small operation in 2004 with just a few sales team members. By 2017, the organization grew large enough to require its own office and distribution center. And our growth has not stopped since.
Now the largest subsidiary of the KNIPEX-Werk organization, the KNIPEX North America headquarters serves not only as an office for the marketing, sales, accounting, human resources, customer service, supply chain and operations teams but also as a receiving location for all KNIPEX pliers exported from Germany to North America. Items are stored and repacked in the suburban Chicago location then shipped to eager customers across a variety of trade professions throughout North America.
