KNIPEX Tools LP (KTLP) is the North American subsidiary of KNIPEX-Werk, a fourth generation private family company with roots dating back to 1882. While KNIPEX Tools operates independently, we have the support and resources of a well-established parent company. Since opening its doors in 2006, KNIPEX Tools has quickly grown & seen much success. Our Benefits
The happiness, health and well-being of our employees is our main priority. We offer several benefits to facilitate this, such as:
Medical – KNIPEX Tools offers comprehensive medical coverage for employees and their dependents which is effective on the first day of employment.
Dental – Dental coverage offered by KNIPEX Tools is effective on the first day of employment with the company paying 100% of the premiums for employees and their dependents.
Vision – Vision coverage offered by KNIPEX Tools is effective on the first day of employment with the company paying 100% of the premiums for employees and their dependents.
HRA – Employees who enroll in our medical benefits are eligible for a Health Reimbursement Arrangement Plan (HRA). The HRA is fully funded annually by the company and can be used toward your medical deductible, copays, coinsurance, and prescriptions; dental care and orthodontics; and vison care expenses.
FSA – Employees are eligible to enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) which allows you to pay for qualified health care and dependent care expenses using tax-free dollars.
Life Insurance – KTLP provides Group Life Insurance at no cost to the participant. Optional Voluntary Term Life Insurance is also available.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance – KNIPEX Tools provides Group Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance at no cost to the participant.
Short-Term Disability – KTLP provides a company-funded Short-Term Disability benefit for eligible employees at no cost.
Long-Term Disability – KTLP provides Long-Term Disability benefits at no cost to the employee.
Aflac – KTLP offers optional Aflac coverage plans including Accident, Hospitalization, Critical Illness, and Cancer benefits.
401K – Eligible employees are able to participate immediately upon employment and are able to receive the company match after 6 months.
Fitness Center Subsidy – KTLP offers a subsidy toward an employee’s fitness club membership or exercise subscription service.
Onsite Vaccination Clinics – The company hosts a free onsite vaccination clinic each fall offering convenient access to most vaccinations/booster shots.
Employee Assistance Program – KTLP’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides no-cost services including mental health benefits, identity theft resources, and legal and financial consultations.
Holidays – The company observes 10 paid holidays per year.
Paid Time Off – KTLP offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) program. Employees with less than 5 years of service will accrue 160 hours (20 days) each year. Those with 5-9 years of service will accrue 200 hours (25 days) each year. Employees with 10 or more years will accrue 240 hours (30 days) each year.
Paid Parental Leave – KTLP provides up to four weeks of Paid Parental Leave to eligible employees to care for and bond with a newborn or a newly adopted child.
Flexible Hours – The company provides flexibility with arrival and departure times so long as the employee is available during KTLP core hours of 9am-3pm and fulfills their full 40-hour workweek.
Early Fridays – The office closes on Fridays at 3pm year-round so our employees can get a head start on their weekends.
Condensed Work Schedules – The second shift in our warehouse enjoys a condensed work schedule. Instead of five 8-hour days, they work four 10-hour days with Fridays off.
Hybrid Work Schedules – Depending on their role in the organization, eligible employees may be able to telecommute up to two days per week.
Tuition Reimbursement – KTLP will reimburse eligible employees for related expenses paid to accredited schools, colleges, and universities for pre-approved certificate and degree programs.
Professional Development Reimbursement Program – To encourage employee development, KNIPEX Tools will sponsor eligible employees to attend pre-approved job-related conferences, courses, and seminars.
Onsite ESL Classes – KNIPEX Tools offers optional onsite English as a Second Language classes each week at no cost to participants.
Online Training and Development Portal – KNOWLEDGE is one of the KTLP values. To support employee growth and development, each employee has access to an online training portal and is encouraged to participate in 60 minutes of learning per month.
Onsite Volunteer Opportunities – One of KTLP’s values is PASSION, where we give back to the community. Some of our annual service projects include gathering food pantry donations, adopting families in need for the holidays, and assembling disaster kits and hygiene products to support disaster and humanitarian efforts.
Volunteer Time Off – KNIPEX Tools is committed to supporting employees so they can contribute to charitable organizations. Volunteer Time Off provides employees with 8 hours of paid time per calendar year to volunteer with organizations that are important to them.
Matching Charitable Gifts Program – To support the work of organizations that are important to our employees, KTLP will match employee contributions to eligible organizations.
Transit Benefits – KTLP is located in close proximity to the Buffalo Grove Metra station and several Pace bus stops. Employees may set up a pre-tax payroll deduction for commuter-related transit expenses on CTA, Metra, and Pace.
Company Events – As a company, we gather to celebrate throughout the year. Yes, we have an annual holiday party, but we also host a bowling tournament, a summer picnic, and an end-of-summer outing. Smaller events include potlucks, food trucks, and monthly Bagel & Bingo Fridays.
Casual Attire – Employees may wear comfortable, casual attire so long as it is business appropriate.
