Special pliers from KNIPEX

In addition to the classic models, special tools are also available in the pliers world for special tasks. These enable easier and faster work than standard tools. Specialists who deal with certain tasks every day are grateful for the right tools: Because as every craftsman knows, the right special tool saves you a lot of effort, energy and time.

Different areas of applications for special pliers

Tasks in the plumbing area include retiling walls or replacement of individual tiles. Tile breaking pliers are suitable for adapting the tiles to different formats. After the superficial scratch, these pliers make it possible to break the tile precisely without having to use much force or concentration. Tile nibbling pliers, as the name suggests, allow you to precisely break out holes. You can also use them to break off individual corners. This is often necessary to make fitting for water connections through the tiles.
Also another addition to this range are notching pliers, which can punch out recesses in plastic rails and housings for electrical and sanitary installations. A cut-out is necessary, for example, if pipes run through the corresponding installation track.

In some trades it is necessary from time to time to adjust glass to certain sizes: glass breaking pliers are suitable for this purpose, which work on a similar principle as tile breaking pliers. To adjust the glass edges, flat nose grazing pliers and glass nibbling pliers are also suitable.

What special pliers are there?

Special pliers replace various tools in a wide variety of applications. Sometimes there are also special forms of the common tools.

These include, for example, ear clamp pliers, which are mainly used in the automotive and beverage sector. They are used to properly close ear clamps on air hoses.

Halogen bulb exchange pliers are used to change small halogen bulbs. Fragile halogen bulbs are not damaged by the plastic-coated gripping surfaces.

Upholstery pliers or hog rings pliers are used to attach upholstery to furniture or car seats. These are often used by professional upholsterers because they enable quick and easy work.

Sheet metal nibblers are the most popular special tool when it comes to cutting thin metal plates. Unlike conventional pliers, they do not snap them.

In addition to special pliers, there are also many spare parts available that counteract premature tool wear. It is often the case that only the blade is worn out after improper use or years of use. However, this can be quickly solved by simply replacing the blade.
